Mining can be a great gathering profession for making some extra gold in Vanilla World of Warcraft / WoW Classic. Many of the materials from mining are used in end-game crafting recipes. Although mining is not typically viewed as the most lucrative profession, the gold you will earn from mining is worth consideration. Here’s our guide for leveling your mining 1-300:
As a general rule of thumb, ore veins can be found on the sides of mountains, and inside of caves and quarries.
1-65 – Dun Morogh (Alliance)
Tip: Follow the circuit above, making sure to get close enough to Gol’Bolar Quarry to check for veins. A lot of nodes spawn in this area.
1-65 – Mulgore (Horde)
Tip: Some people suggest Durotar for mining, but it’s really quite terrible due to the elevation differences. Although Mulgore may not have as many veins it goes much faster because of the simplicity of the circuit.
66-125 – Westfall (Alliance)
Tip: Make sure you jump down into the Gold Coast Quarry and get close enough to the Jangolode Mine to check for veins. As you make the circuit past Sentinel Hill, pass between the two big hills (where the Defias camp is), as nodes can spawn in this area.
66-125 – The Barrens (Horde)
Tip: Stick to the northern half of the zone, staying close to mountains and cliffs.
125-175 – Arathi Highlands
Tip: Start by checking the cave in the north-east (upper right) for Lesser Bloodstone Ore. It has a very high spawn rate and is used for a quest. The ore sells very consistently on the auction house to players looking for a quick bit of experience.
175-251 – The Hinterlands
Tip: Make sure you check the caves circled in blue, as a lot of ore can spawn here. You may consider skipping Seradane due to the danger of elites/world boss.
251-300 – Un’goro Crater
Tip: Make a simple circuit of the zone. A lot of ore can spawn in the Silithid cave in the south as well as Fire Plume Ridge in the center, but you’ll have to consider the danger of going in either location.
